fresh fruit. Then we all walked down the beach and visited the primary
and secondary schools where we will be working. It was amazing to see
kids learning 11th grade biology in a small classroom and in a mixture
of Swahili and English.
Then we visited the nursery schooland played with the little kids. We
didsome fingerpainting and then went down to the beach. The kids were
so amazingly friendly and open. They all wanted to hold our hands as
we walked around and they wouldn't let go.
We came back to camp for some pasta and rest (it is soooooo hot here.
Words fail) and then we took a tour of town, visited the "coral area,"
where they get the coral they build with, and then we went to see the
medicine man, who showed us many many herbs and told us their uses.
Then our bags arrived and we were very happy. It was a great day.
